Volunteer Opportunities

Upcoming Event Opportunities:

BIG Team Regatta, October 3rd

This corporate challenge fundraiser needs volunteers to solicit sponsorships and corporate entries, to obtain product donations, and plan the party.  See www.gelcorp.com/bigteam for more information on the event.

Specific Volunteer Positions:

Event Coordinator:  Plan festivities on the day of the Big Team Regatta. Responsible for everything outside of the water. Support with catering and vendor communication. Manage volunteers for setup and breakdown. Assist in soliciting and coordinating sponsorships and donations. 

PR Manager:  Write and distribute pre and post event press releases to the appropriate news outlets. Solicit day of coverage for the event, i.e. radio, TV, web.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Boat Repair

Help repair and maintain our sailboats (Optis, Access Dinghies and J24s) and our motorboats.

Database Maintenance

We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to edit and update our database for 2-3 hours per month throughtout the year.

Sailing Instructors

We are looking for experienced sailing instructors to assist with our programs. U.S. Sailing Level 1 certification or equivalent experience required.
