Giving Back to TISC
TISC offers a range of Junior Sailing classes designed to target a wide range of ages and skill levels in a variety of boats, all within a developmentally appropritate framework. Information on Junior Sailing classes is availble through the Juniors section of our website.
TISC Junior Sailling program currently has class options for children ages 6 to 18.
Every day your child should bring lunch, a reuasble water bottle, a bathing suit, watershoes, sunscreen, a towel, and a weather appropriate change of clothes. A hat and sunglasses are also advisable. More advanced sailors may also want more technical sailing gear including sailing gloves, dinghy boots, and spray gear.
TISC is able to provide all of our Junior sailors with lifejackets and wetsuits for use during their classes at TISC.
TISC is currently able to affer a generous scholarship program for qualifying students looking to enroll in one of our Junior Sailing Program. Children from families with a combined household income of less than $40,000 per year may qualify for Full Scholarship through TISC. Children from families with a combined household income between $40,000 and $70,00 per year may qualify for Partial Scholarship through TISC. TISC Junior Sailing Program runs rain or shine.
Prior to, or on the first day of Program, parents will complete a "Dismissal Form" for their child. This form will be list the names of approved adults who are able to pick up the student from program. This form also allows for a notation regarding the student's ability to take public transportation home by themselves. At the end of each day, students are signed-out and dismissed either to an approved adult or are allowed to walk to public transportation.
TISC offers a wide range of adult classes on a variety of boats including Adult Dinghy, Keelboat 1, Keelboat 2, Skills Builders, and private lessons. Information on all of these classes is availble through the Adult & Family section of our website.
Prior sailing experience is not required unless specified in the course description, i.e. Keelboat 2 or Skills Builders.
TISC offers community sailing on Wednesday nights and weekends. Information on these programs is availble through the Adult & Family section of our website.
Community sailing at TISC is open to everyone who is interested. TISC also welcomes toddler's and young children to participate at the parent's discretion given compliance to all safety procedures and direct parent supervision.
Yes. TISC currently rents paddleboards and kayaks on weekends between 10am and 4pm. For more information please visit either the Kayaking or Paddleboarding page of our website.
Yes! There are countless ways to help out regardless of whether or not you presently know how to sail. We are always in need of people who want to help out (for a day or for an entire project). You can find more information and a link to our volunteer registration page here.

Imagine the independence a child feels the first time at the helm of a sailboat. Experiential learning is so important for building self-confidence and encouraging critical thinking. At Treasure Island Sailing Center we provide the opportunity for children to learn these valuable lessons while cultivating a love for the sport of sailing. If you are a life long sailor or if you have dreamed of sailing on the bay you can appreciate the fantastic experiences a youngster will have by participating in our classes. You can contribute here!

- Before 30 Days - Full Refund
- Before 15 days - 50% Refund
