About Us

Over the last 12 years, Treasure Island Sailing Center has engaged over 10,000 youth and adults in the joy of sailing!

2011 was a very successful year for TISC, with our programs expanding by 50%.  We focused on enhancing our programs to increase skill retention and participation, and on building more partnerships with Youth and Adaptive organizations in the community to increase our outreach. We held 230 classes and provided over 14,000 hours of sailing instruction, a 50% increase from 2010, to more than 800 participants with a 45% return/repeat rate.

Treasure Island Sailing Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization operated by volunteers and dedicated staff members as a multi-use community sailing center. TISC was founded in 1999 and provides sailing lessons - from beginning instruction to advanced level racing - to more than 1,000 children and teenagers per year through its Youth Sailing and Adaptive Sailing programs. The Adaptive Sailing Program offers a range of introductory through racing classes for children and adults with physical or developmental disabilities.
